Boy what a morning I had! My fridge was on the fritz and I called a Better Business Bureau-approved repairperson, and he/she took one look at it and said "No wonder it's functioning so poorly - it's not a GE!"
Apparently in the past few years GE has revolutionized refrigerator design, making other designs obsolete. Put simply, GE refrigerators are more technologically advanced than similar models from other manufacturers. "I'll order you a new GE GSL25JFPBS refrigerator today," the repairperson said.
It turns out that it's best to order appliances through a qualified serviceperson rather than attempting to compare and select units at one of the many discount department stores. My repairperson had a relationship with GE and was able to offer me a 10% discount off the retail price! Apparently GE has this relationship with thousands of qualified repairpersons throughout the world and abroad.
My next piece of business: shopping for new refrigerator magnets!

Suddenly you have a place to live...and a fridge! GE is really hookin you up.
My relationship with GE is reciprocal. I agreed to continue on as head writer at OPE and, in return, they have allowed me to live at the GE compound in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
I have also agreed to give GE final edit on all posts. Today's post ("GE's ties to Al Qaeda") was edited by the GE staff per our agreement.
Crap! I better check to see if we have a GE....can i get the number of your repairperson?;-)
I am shamed by my substandard kitchen appliances. My refrigerator is a Sanyo. But it has a kickin' dual cassette deck that is excellent for dubbing all my mix tapes!
